SURI 2.0 Review: Better than the 1.0?
I bought the SURI 1.0 electric toothbrush in June 2025 and ultimately decided to return it in September (the 100-day happiness guarantee came in handy). When the SURI 2.0 came out, I wanted to give it another go since there were a couple significant updates.

Here’s what my experience has been with the new brush, and how I think it compares to the older version. I’m a sustainable travel and lifestyle blogger, so having a reliable and portable toothbrush is important to me, and I hope this post can help you!

SURI 1.0 vs. 2.0: Main Differences
The SURI 1.0 and SURI 2.0 are about a $30 difference. Here’s how you can tell which one you should go for.
The main upgrades to the SURI 2.0 are:
- The charging case: for the 1.0, you need to plug the case in to be able to clean your brush. There is no battery in the case itself. In the 2.0 case, there is a battery and you can use the cleaning button without plugging it in. The shape of the case is also different and sleeker, as the corners are less angular.
- Pressure sensor: the SURI 2.0 has a pressure sensor on the brush, so if you press too hard, it will stop vibrating and start again only when you ease up the pressure.
If you don’t think you need any of these changes, it may make sense to save money and get the 1.0.

SURI 2.0: Is it worth it?
So am I keeping the SURI 2.0? I ultimately returned the 1.0 since the paint started peeling on the brush within those 100 days, and I didn’t like that I had to plug the case in to clean the brush.
I’ve had the 2.0 for a few weeks now, and I think it’s a keeper this time. It is very different from traditional electric brushes as the head itself doesn’t rotate (you have to still move the brush around), but it’s also way lighter, more portable, and more sustainable. I love that you can send in old brush heads to be recycled. In fact, you get a return shipping bag for your brush heads when you buy the brush.

Assuming the paint doesn’t peel again, I’ll be holding onto the 2.0. And if I do have any issues, I have full confidence that I’ll be able to return it given the happiness guarantee. There were no questions asked last time, and I got a refund minus the $10 shipping fee.

Do you find the pressure sensor works ok? I have got a Suri 2 and I realised the pressure sensor only triggers if I press really, really hard. So hard that I can’t even brush at the same time. So that feature seems not to be working for me. I’m wondering if I have a faulty unit perhaps.
I definitely have to press pretty hard for the sensor to work! I can still brush but not too much. It’s definitely not as sensitive as the pressure sensor in conventional brushes.
